It tells the story of Syd trying to impress a girl with all the things he has – including a bike (he borrowed), a cloak, friendship with a homeless mouse, and a plate of gingerbread men. Today I introduce a pivotal album from UFOverdriver called “Here I Am”. I went looking for a singer for the band late last year and ended up hiring myself. Now UFOverdriver has a voice!

“Here I Am” has seven tracks – six originals and a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Bike”.

The first track is called “Hello Major Tom” and is a nod to David Bowie’s character, Major Tom. “Circling The Sun, Part 1 & 2” is a pair of songs that question the social inequalities here on planet Earth. “Daytrippin’” is a road trip song. “Bike” is the Pink Floyd song from 1967, written by Syd Barrett. “I Miss You So” I wrote for Tania when she was gone visiting her family a couple weeks ago. The album finishes with “Last Call”, a bittersweet little love song about the end of the night.
