about

"Repetition equals variation" - for the last few weeks I've been creating music through the use of slightly varied repeating loops, following in the footsteps laid out by Brian Eno in his Ambient series of albums.

"Repetition is a form of change" - Brian Eno, Oblique Strategies

"Repetition doesn't really exist. As far as your mind is concerned, nothing happens the same twice, even if in every technical sense, the thing is identical. Your perception is constantly shifting. It doesn't stay in one place." - Brian Eno from interview

MEDITATIONSgroup1 - The November Sessions

This collection gathers four previous EP releases (plus one brand new track) into one long playing album.

Executions1 - Music For Hi-Deserts
Meditations1 - The Long Walk
Meditations 2 - Repetition Equals Variation
Meditations 3 - On Any Clear Day

All of these pieces of ambient music were recorded during November, 2015 in a homestead cabin in the hi-desert. Situated in a gulch between Antelope Creek and Antelope Wash, this collection is saturated with two years of living surrounded by granite boulders, Joshua Trees, Yucca, Blackbrush, Catclaw Trees, fast moving cloud skies and long dirt roads.

There is a video for "The Long Walk - Part 1", directed by Tania Leysen, which was filmed in the gulch. You can view it here: youtu.be/wAG5aq5yms0

There is also a video for Long Black Car - 3AM Mix. You can view it here: youtu.be/t9vG5w8M9W0

UFOverdriver Joshua Tree, California

UFOverdriver’s output can be defined as three different periods – so far, with this last year being the completion of version 3. It was born as a sound collage project, then grew into an ambient music project, now it’s whatever it is – some genre-less wanderer in search of an audience. ... more
